21st August 2017. Mark the date! North America gets to experience a rare total eclipse of the sun.
Traffic up into the mountains is likely to be heavy. Why not stay at Wildcat to avoid the rush? The eclipse at the campground will be 99.999%. A short drive to nearby Blairsville will put you into the path of total eclipse which will last for one minute and fifty-eight seconds.
Of course, using Suches as a base, you can drive a little further to extend the total eclipse time up to a maximum of two minutes and thirty-eight seconds! (See the resources links on the right of this page.)
Either way, don't forget your eclipse glasses, and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime event! We hope it will be with us.
